Title: Senior JAVA Developer

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Specify, design, develop, and implement front-end and back-end applications related to the financial services and capital markets industries
  • Analyze customer and internal project requirements to implement new products and enhance existing solutions
  • Analysis of market conditions, competition, and product strengths/weaknesses to create product strategy. Business case analysis to justify product strategy and roadmap.
  • Lead a Development team in multiple phases of projects, including requirements gathering, software design, development and testing

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have a thorough understanding of Order Entry and Market Data APIs
  • 6-8 Years Experience with Object-Oriented Design and Development (Core Java)
  • Proficient with open source frameworks such as Struts, Tiles, Axis and Hibernate
  • Extremely proficient with standard JAVA development tools including ANT, Maven, Cruise Control, log4J, JUnit, etc.
  • Swing/SWT GUI Development Experience
  • Message-oriented middleware (JMS/Tibco) development Experience
  • Knowledge and experience with SQL and relational database concepts
  • DBA Experience a Plus
  • 5+ Years Experience developing n-tier Internet applications with Java/J2EE (EJB, JSP, Servlet)
  • Experience with JBoss or similar J2EE application server(s)
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript, XML and XSLT
  • 3 - 5 Years Financial industry experience
  • Understanding of basic concepts of Futures, Options, Equities, and FX.
  • Prior FIX messaging protocol a plus
  • Strong understanding of Linux/Unix/Solaris Environments

Education/Work Experience

  • BS in Computer Science or related field
